Karr's National Rehabilitation Hospital 2nd Floor Addition has been featured in the Environmental Defense Fund's weekly Energy Innovation Series - "Weekly Spotlight: Innovation in the Built Environment".... This 8,800 SF second floor addition to the Christoph Ruesch Neuroscience Research Center had to satisfy the challenges of the hospital's competing programmatic needs and cost constraints, compounded by the complexity of complicated building systems. The answer was a design that focused on bold simplicity.
